Our yoga program is focused on providing a spectrum of alternatives to meet the needs of every student. Whether you are a beginner or have years of experience, our intention is for you to leave with the tools necessary to enrich and deepen your practice.  Adding Yoga to your schedule is especially recommended to build the flexibility, balance and strength needed for your surfing techniques. Our certified instructors offer a wide variety of approaches including Iyengar based Hatha Yoga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and Anusara based classes.  As part of your Costa Rica experience we try to mix in various settings so that you can enjoy practicing within the gorgeous natural surroundings available in the area.

Special note : All fieldtrips are subject to availability. The School of the World staff can arrange additional field trips for students. Possibilities include deep-sea fishing, sailing, kayaking, horseback riding, canopy tour, and sunset boat trips to name a few. Prices for these vary according to availability, number of people going, and the season, but we can definitely help you receive a discount on these fun activities in our area. In addition to helping you set up extra-curricular activities, we can also help you plan your weekend trips to other destinations in Costa Rica.

YOGA AND SURFING

This combo is one of our newest programs. The Yoga class schedule is written with the tides and best surf times in mind so that you can practice Yoga and enjoy Jacó's favorite pastime.

Note: Surfing is a sport that is determined by ocean and weather conditions. The School of the World reserves the right to determine if a class will be cancelled due to scheduling conflicts, dangerous wave heights, or bad weather conditions (i.e. lightning). We aim to take students surfing every day possible, but safety is our primary concern.
