This is one of our most popular combinations! The Spanish class schedule is written with the tides and best surf times in mind so you can learn the language and enjoy Costa Rica's favorite pastime. This is available for all levels of Spanish students, and all skill level surfers. Each day consists of approximately 2 hours of surfing, 2 hours of Spanish class (covering new material), and an hour of Spanish Lab (designed to reinforce the day's lesson with conversation, homework help, games, etc).

Surfing and Spanish Four Week Program
Why not take a month off to learn a language and perfect your surfing? With our four week program you will be guaranteed to catch great waves and can even get college credit for your Spanish course.
This four week program includes lodging, 40 hours of Spanish Class, 20 hours of Spanish Lab, and 40 hours of Surf Sessions. The surf sessions include approximately 2 hours a day of surfing (M-F), use of a surfboard, guide/instructor, and transportation to the appropriate break for your skill level. We offer several lodging options and our prices are affordable.
Surfing and Spanish Three Week Program
Originally we only offered 1,2, and 4 week programs at the school. We created the three week program because so many people that signed up for the one and two week programs ended up extending their stay! The three week program includes lodging, 30 hours of Spanish Class, 15 hours of Spanish Lab, and 30 hours of Surf Sessions. The surf sessions include approximately 2 hours a day of surfing (M-F), use of a surfboard, guide/instructor, and transportation to the appropriate break for your skill level. We offer several lodging options and our prices are affordable.

The one week program includes lodging, 10 hours of Spanish Class, 5 hours of Spanish Lab, and 10 hours of Surf Sessions. The Surf Ssessions include approximately 2 hours a day of surfing (M-F), use of a surfboard, guide/instructor, and transportation to the appropriate break for your skill level. We offer several lodging options and our prices are affordable. Be warned: A week will fly by and leave you scrambling to figure out how to stay longer!
Note:Surfing is a sport that is determined by ocean and weather conditions. The School of the World reserves the right to determine if a class will be cancelled due to scheduling conflicts, dangerous wave heights, or bad weather conditions (i.e. lightning). We aim to take students surfing every day possible, but safety is our primary concern.
