The visual language of photography you will learn will help you express your creative side and narrate your experiences in a way words cannot. This program is available for all levels of Spanish students, and all skill level photographers. Each day (M-F) consists of approximately 2 hours of photography class, 2 hours of Spanish class (covering new material), and an hour of Spanish Lab (designed to reinforce the day's lesson with conversation, homework help, games, etc).

Spanish and Photography Four Week Program
Students regularly say they learn more Spanish in a month at School of the World than in years of classes back home. Taking a month to explore your creativity with photography will forever change your persepective. Four week photography students have time to cover all of the basics of photography, take a lot of field trips for great landscape, portrait, street, travel, night, and time lapse lessons. You also get time to learn digital darkroom editing and workflow skills using Photoshop and Lightroom. This four week program includes lodging, 40 hours of Digital Photography Class, 40 hours of Spanish Class, and 20 hours of Spanish lab. In addition to all of the great conversational Spanish that you will learn in this course, you also get more time to learn techniques for achieving certain "looks" or stylized photos - using manual settings, lighting, lens selection, and post-production editing. Whether you are learning some survival Spanish or refreshing your memory from previous study, this program will give you a great taste of Costa Rica. The photography classes will help you feel comfortable with the basic principles of photography and help you get to know your camera settings so you can finally go beyond those factory presets. If you have previous experience with photography this course will help you learn new techniques and capture the beauty of Costa Rica, visiting places you wouldn't have otherwise seen.
